Data Upload

Using the Data Upload files and folders can be uploaded for processing, metadata assignment, and device ID linking.

Click the Data Upload tab to open the Manual Data Upload.

Prerequisites

  • To execute the following actions, you have to be assigned to the Power User role or higher.

    All users with the Data Provider role can upload files as well.

  • A Pipeline must be running.

Manually uploading data

You can upload files and folders.

Proceed as follows

  1. Click either the Select Files button or the Select Folder button.

    You can select multiple files to be uploaded. If you upload a folder, all files within the folder are uploaded.

  2. Select the file(s) or folder to be uploaded.
    → The file(s) and the file details are displayed.

  3. In the File Details pane, define the metadata details of the file to be uploaded.

    1. Enter a Key, e.g. version or device.

    2. Enter a Value.

    3. If you configured rules for the data upload as described in Upload Settings, provide the required metadata details.

    4. To add another entry, click the Add Metadata Entry button.

      To remove a key-value pair, click the Remove icon images/confluence/download/thumbnails/1094237865/icon_input_history_delete_input_data-version-1-modificationdate-1642514911000-api-v2.png .

      To apply the metadata information to all entries, click the Apply to all files icon images/confluence/download/thumbnails/1094237865/icon_data_upload_metadata_apply_to_all-version-1-modificationdate-1642514911000-api-v2.png , or click the Apply Metadata Globally button to apply the metadata globally.

  4. In the File Details pane, add device IDs to the file to be uploaded.

    1. Click the Add Device ID button.
      The Search Device field is displayed.

    2. Enter the device ID or search for it in the drop-down list.

      If you have defined mandatory device types in the Upload Settings, you have to select at least one device for every mandatory device type.


  5. To upload the file(s) or folder for processing, click the Upload button or the Upload All button.
    → The file(s) or folder are uploaded and the processing of the documents is started. The current state is displayed. You can view the input data in the Input History and the processed data in the Processing Information.

To remove all uploaded files and folders, click the Remove button.
