Custom Widgets guide

The service already offers a wide range of configurable widgets. If a special use case or usability experience cannot be implemented with the offered widgets, its also possible to develop and add your own custom widgets.

Custom widgets are implemented and delivered as custom elements (technically called web components). This means a frontend developer can use the full power of JavaScript in the browser to implement a widget.

Specific requirements towards the implementation of custom widgets apply, which have to be followed for a successful integration.

Find out more about the specific tasks based on your role in the custom widget development process.

If you act as:

  • an admin of a project for which the custom widget will be developed, refer to Admin tasks;

  • a developer of a custom widget for a project, refer to Developer tasks;

  • a reviewer of a newly developed custom widget before it is deployed, refer to Reviewer tasks.
